Downe Township is unique for many reasons not the least of which is our wonderful natural surroundings. Those of us who live here realize that they have one of New Jersey's best kept secrets right in their our backyard.

Downe Township is extremely unique in that a very large amount of land within the township is exempt from taxation for environmental reasons.

Downe Township has a rather large and growing senior population. The number of seniors in the township seems to indicate the perceived quality of life issues are appreciated by seniors.

We have an active senior population who meet regularly at the township municipal complex on Sharp Lane in Newport.
