If you have lived in Downe Township since 1987 or have friends who have lived here you have probably heard of the DDT Newsletter Online. The DDT Newsletter Online was originally published as one man's attempt to change Downe Township's political atmosphere. Bernard Sayers, the editor and publisher of the DDT Newsletter is a card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party. Most of the content of the newsletter reflects his strong Libertarian philosophical perspective. Mr. Sayers believes a single voice can make a difference. He also walks in the spirit of the following which was written by Walt Whitman: "There is no week, nor day, nor hour, when tyranny may not enter upon this country, if the people lose their supreme confidence in themselves - and lose their roughness and spirit of defiance." The DDT Newsletter Online continues that spirit of confidence and defiance. There is an election next month. Incumbent committeeman Larry Jordan is being challenged by Dividing Creek resident Beverly Bell Beck. I am voting for Larry Jordan. I'm voting for Larry because he's the best man for the job at the present time. Larry and I have disagreed-- and I'm sure we will disagree again--but Larry is accessible and always willing to listen to my opinion. That's quite a bit to say about the politicians of today. Ms. Beck is only now getting her political feet wet. It's too early for me and most other residents of Downe Township to know what her thoughts are. She hasn't been around long enough to be voted into office this year. She needs to attend a year's worth of township meetings. How else could she know what is going on? Anything but attending the meetings is second-hand information. Beverly Beck needs to attend meetings and get her information first-hand. Larry Jordan, on the other hand, has been dedicating personal time to volunteer and township-oriented efforts for over 25 years. Larry's experience on the rescue squad and fire companies has given him the opportunity to hear opinions and complaints from a whole bunch of people. He has a good handle on the beat of the township. This not to say that I personally agree with everything he has done nor does it mean that I would handle things the way Larry has. It means Larry has a much better perspective on the way Downe residents think than does Beverly Bell Beck. Ms. Bell needs another year of attending meetings, interplaying with our residents and being involved with township activities before we vote her into office. In November, 2002 I am voting for Larry Jordan. I suggest that you vote for Larry Jordan. Sincerely,
Bernard Sayers Latest Developments and how this works... There are a number of 'topics' listed below in Bold Italic 14pt Red lettering.
