Are
you superstitious? Some folks believe that combination of 11 and 11 has
special meaning. I needed a date for this DDT so I picked 11/11. More
correctly, 11/11/02.
On November 21, 2002 I am making a presentation to the Downe Township Board of Education addressing the idea of installing a wireless network in the school. My focus will be on advantages to the teachers, children and parents of the district for having a wireless network within the school. I will also touch on the concept of a Community Wireless Network which will have the effect of wiring the entire township together. I will be posting a few documents to explain the whole idea over the next few days. Please stop back.
Bernard Sayers Remember the Township Gossip? That ain't me, babe. I sign my name to what ever I create. You don't have to agree with me; but know that I'm proud of what I believe and write. Latest Developments and how this works... The first article in a topic group web log is the most recently written. Working 'down' the web log page within a topical group has the effect of going backward in time. You can jump to the topic web log pages by clicking on the hyperlink words below: Township Issues Other issues relating to Township issues can be read about on the Township Issues web log HERE. School Issues Whew...so many things are going on with the Downe Township Schools system it's difficult to know where to start. You can read the Downe Township Schools topical web log HERE. Environmental Issues The beauty of Downe Township is slowly slipping away as our world is changing before our eyes. A majestic and beautiful tree is dying. Whether you hug trees or cut them down for firewood this is sad... See it by clicking here: Death of a Pond Pine. Would you believe a few thousand MORE acres of Downe Township will be soon tax exempt? Read the latest on our tax exempt situation. By some reports, our tax exempt land is now over 85% of the land in Downe Township. See the Environmental Issues web log HERE. Senior Issues Downe Township has a rather large senior population because folks realize what a wonderful place we have for retirement. On recent visits to the Senior Center when I made presentations to the group more the 15 seniors were present. Read more about Downe Seniors on Downe Senior web log which is HERE. The DDT Newsletter Online was originally published in a print addition of one or two pages and distributed by mail with a bulk mailing permit. The original DDT Newsletter was one man's attempt to change Downe Township's political atmosphere by informing the residents in a humorous way that our township could be administered better to everyone's benefit. This new Internet based version of the newsletter, is now DDT Newsletter Online. Downe Township is very special place to me. I have lived here for almost 40 years. My daughter is in the fourth grade in the Downe Township School District. I have every reason to continue to working toward making Downe an even better place to live. I believe a single voice can make a difference. I also believe that the Internet has given my single voice a strength and range of exposure that, before the Web, one voice has never had. "There is no week, nor day, nor hour, when tyranny may not enter upon this country, if the people lose their supreme confidence in themselves - and lose their roughness and spirit of defiance." Walt Whitman The DDT Newsletter Online continues that spirit of confidence and defiance. Comments to the DDT are welcome but must not be anonymous. Publication of email to the DDT is at the sole discretion of the publisher.
